5TH GRADER, JORDAN TACKER'S ARTWORK

These 4 pieces, measuring 22X30 inches totaling 5 were painted by Jordan Thacker, a 5th grader of mine at Oakdale and also a private student of mine.
Jordan created all five pieces with a 10 hour period of time. If you notice closely, each piece is the same subject matter, virtually the same drawing, and each emphasizing a different design element, texture, line, shape and color. Jordan is exceptionally fast as well as being exceptionally creative.

The students were to rotate the paper till they saw an image within the lines, then add whatever it took to complete their images. They are arranged here from top to bottom, first grade, second grade, third grade and fourth grade.

Students art work this 6 weeks.

All three of these pieces were done after studying PICASSO and his life and influences.
The first one is by a third grader and his piece is 18X24 inches and is from his interpretations of Picasso's blue period. The guitar from his knowledge of why Picasso painted the guitarist.
The second one is by a second grader and it is his way of studying abstractions. His is an abstracted Turkey Dinner. It is also 18X24 inches.

The third on is by a 5th grader and it is a study in Black and White, done after studying Guernica, and it is an Abstraction of an Apple. How would Picasso thought about an apple from the inside out. It is 18X48 inches. Done in tempera.

3 OF THE 11 MERIT AWARDS AT THE OKLAHOMA STATE FAIR.

The first piece if a stuffed paper sculpture by TANNER, Tanner was a 6th grader when he did this.

This piece is what we call a woven work by Haley W. Two different paintings are started and half way through they are cut apart and woven back together. One piece is turn upside down before putting them back together. One of the different subject matters will always appear dominate. that is the one painting we finish. Haley was in the 7th grade when she did this piece.

This piece is an enamel spray painting done by 3rd grader Mason G. The paper is sprayed randomly with the primary colors and then cut templates out of mat board are put down and sprayed with black and white to create the images.
